How to Identify Your Skin Concern (and What Actually Helps)
Most people don't wake up knowing exactly what their skin needs — they just notice something's off. Maybe it's a new line that wasn't there last year, a patch of discoloration that won't fade, or skin that feels tight no matter how much moisturizer you use. Figuring out which concern you're actually dealing with is the first step to fixing it — the right formula only works if it's solving the right problem.
Here's how to tell what you're looking at, and where to start.
Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Look for: creasing around the eyes or mouth that shows even when your face is relaxed, and skin that looks a little less springy than it used to. This is where antioxidant and collagen-support ingredients do their work.

Dark Spots & Uneven Tone
Look for: patches of discoloration from sun exposure, past breakouts, or scarring that are darker than your surrounding skin tone. These respond to brightening and tone-evening formulas.

Dehydrated, Dull-Looking Skin
Look for: skin that looks flat or tired even when it's not flaking — dehydration is about water content, not oil, and it can affect any skin type, including oily skin. The fix is usually a hydration boost, not a heavier moisturizer.
Dry, Flaky Skin
Look for: visible flaking, rough texture, or a tight feeling that shows up within an hour of cleansing. Unlike dehydration, this usually means skin needs more lipids/oils, not just water.
Sensitive, Reactive Skin
Look for: redness, stinging, or irritation that shows up when you try new products — even ones that work fine for other people. This skin type does best with gentler, fragrance-free formulas introduced one at a time.
Loss of Firmness
Look for: skin along the jawline, neck, or cheeks that feels less bouncy than it used to, or doesn't spring back as quickly when you press it. This is where firming and lifting-focused formulas come in.
Not Sure Which One Is You? That's Normal.
Most people have more than one concern at once — dehydration and fine lines often show up together, for example. MudadMD was founded by Dr. Raja Mudad, a practicing oncologist, on the idea that skincare should be built the way medicine is: matched to what your skin is actually doing, at medical-grade active strength, using naturally derived ingredients.
